I'm Rhodri Jones, and I'm a qualified Psychological Fitness
Specialist, as well as a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Coach - which
deals with the impact of the subconscious mind on human behaviour,
through exploring those limiting beliefs and narratives that
prevent you from fully engaging with life, and performing in all
areas of life.
I have over 20 years' of practical experience in the field of
human performance. Firstly as a professional footballer with
Manchester United and Rotherham, and consequently as a drama
television director and documentary filmmaker. I'm used to
being in the middle of high-performing, high-achieving and
high-intensity environments', and I am used to dealing with people
from all walks of life.
I have an an experiential understanding of mental health
issues, after periods of depression, that culminated in
me waking up in 2017 following a period of over 30 years
of living in a self-made mind prison, with a harsh inner critic and
a very busy mind. I had to retire in my early twenties due to a
knee injury, but a low-level of psychological fitness has had a
greater impact on my life.
I've spent considerable time studying the mind, through
reading, contemplating and practicing. I've been influenced by
Stoic and Eastern philosophies', whilst also keeping up to date
with the latest neurobiological findings'. The creator of the
Psychological Fitness Training programme is integrative medical
doctor and internationally renowned human development pioneer, Dr
Mark Atkinson. I've also studied and been influenced by The
Mind Architect, Peter Crone, who works with world-class
entertainers, professional athletes, and business leaders'
In the episode we spoke about:

- We talked about the highs but what were the low
points?
- Ian Holloway and your dark days
- Does football (soccer) set the youth up to fail?
- If you had to do it all again would you take that
opportunity?
- Have you been influenced by Trevor Moawad's Neutral
Thinking?
- 'For you to change some of has to die'
- Rhodri flipped the script on me and asked my 2nd to last
question that I like to ask all my guests
